Cherry blossoms are expected to bloom around the usual time or marginally earlier in many parts of Japan this year, the weather information company Weather Map Co. has predicted.​

According to the firm, the growth of blossom buds has been slightly slower than usual this year due to severely cold weather between late January and February. However, it is expected to be warm in early March, which should result in blossoms emerging at the usual time if not even earlier.
